Reese has decided she likes to call me "Mom" now. Hello, where did "Mommy" go? She'll tell me something and finish her sentence with "Mom." Like, "Let's get in the shower Mom". It's really cute and just amazes me how each week (like always) she does something new; ending one phase and starting another.
She also knows that GiGi's name is Fredda, MaMoo's name is Ruth, Daddy's name is Matt and Mom's name is Adrienne. She'll point to me and say, "That is Adrienne!" She knows baby brother's name and that her name is Reese Addison Sicinski. She can't quite say the whole thing at once, but she knows and can pronounce Sicinski.
We can have a conversation about anything which is fun. She'll tell me how Joe at school put sand in her hair and then went to time out. She also remembers when we talk about things we'll do later in the week, like have dinner with PaPa Larry. Reese will say, "You are taking me to school tomorrow and Daddy is taking me to school on Monday." It amuses me, can you tell?
While having dinner with PaPa Larry this week at Lupe's in The Woodlands, Reese went potty in the public restroom! A first! She did so well. I figured she would do it because at home she uses Daddy's commode (as she calls it) without her potty seat. She has really done well and made this an easy transition. Love being diaper free, for at least 3 more months. ;)
Her funniest thing to do now is when she doesn't want to sleep she will get out of bed, open and shut her door and run back to her bed. If I go check on her she will give me a sly look like, "What?". She loves to say, "I'm not sleepy!" So last night I let her get up and lay down with me on the couch for 10 minutes. Then I told her I was tired and we needed to go to bed. She took her Cars blanket, walked to her room and shut the door. Oh, she cracks us up! Before I laid down, I peeked in and she was laying in her bed telling me, "I'm not sleepy!" I must admit I gave in and let her lay down with me. She proceeded to chat for 10 more minutes. For the most part, she has been sleeping in her room whether it be on a pallet on the floor, on her mattress on the floor or in her bed. Whatever works for her....like I said before it is just another phase!
Some other cute things she is doing...
The past few days when I pick her up from school she and her friend Chloe give each other a hug and kiss. Chloe will say, "I want to give Reese a hug." I will ask Reese if she wants to hug Chloe and she'll run over and give her a hug and kiss.
When the sun starts going down Reese will say, "It's nite nite time! Mr. Sun is going down and Mr. Moon is going up." Then when she wakes up she will say, "Mr. Moon went to bed and Mr. Sun went up."
Reese also knows that things can have two different names. The other day Matt asked her what cereal she was eating and she said, "Cheerios." He said to her, "Also known as?" and she replied, "Honeybees." She used to call Honey Nut Cheerios Honeybees.
With kids, the fun never stops!

Preggo Tidbit #4
I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow less than 99 days to go! Wow, baby boy will be here before we know it! BTW, we have a name picked out...but you'll have to wait a bit longer to hear what it is.
Yesterday, I got my weekly shot and it was the worse yet. Seriously, they hurt more and more each week. At first they were no big deal, but on about the 5th shot, I realized this isn't fun anymore! I alternate hips each week, but apparently the shots hurt because I have knots built up. I'm glad I am having the nurse or doctor inject me each week because I wouldn't be able to do it myself. If Matt were giving them to me, I would think he was doing it wrong if it hurt this much. Doc promises me that it'll be worth it. I know, any pain is worth having a full term (at least 37 weeks) pregnancy and a healthy baby, but it does make me wonder if I could go through it again a 3rd time.
Other than that, I am doing well. Besides the fact that some days I have a lot of tightening in my abdomen (Braxton Hicks contractions). It is a little early to be having them so frequently, so the doctor is running tests now to ensure everything is a-ok, but I am certain it is. She is not too concerned because they don't hurt. I just have to rest as much as I can...can't be running errands all weekend and such. Reese was born at 36.6 weeks, so my goal is to make it at least that long, if not a bit longer before baby boy arrives.
Some days are more uncomfortable that others. Sometimes I feel very full or like he is going to push right out of my stomach. The heartburn comes and goes. I got a major leg cramp in my calf the other morning before getting up. Doc says I am probably calcium and potassium deficient, so I'm taking my supplements and eating bananas to try and avoid another one of those. Baby boy is building his bones and therefore taking calcium from me.
And how could I forget this, baby boy moves so much all day and all night. I can't remember if Reese moved this much at this stage, but for some reason I think not. Sometimes I sit and watch my stomach just amazed at how much this boy can move! It can be a little distracting when I am in a meeting or talking to someone at work. I usually just look down and say, "He's moving again!" Keep it up...that way Mommy knows you are ok in there. :)
I've been purchasing lots of cute onesies and pj's from Gap lately...got to get stocked up on boy stuff. Our next thing is to get Reese a twin bed, so he can have her bed. Then of course I need to select his bedding!

Cars, Cars, Cars!
Reese still loves her Cars gear including books, wall decals and new Lego's!
She held up her Mater toy to the Mater wall decal and said, "They match!". She then repeated this for her Sally, McQueen and Doc Hudson books.
On Sunday, MaMa Pat gave Reese her first set of Lego's. Uncle Christ built the gas station, so McQueen could fill up.

On the verge of construction
Adrienne and I plan to publish lots of blog postings over the next year as we move from design to final product. Enjoy!
ACTION ITEMS COMPLETED SO FAR:
After three long years of planning, our house plans are complete and we are slated to start construction within the next two weeks. To date, our electricity has been cut, our natural gas line has been removed, our water meter has been replaced with a tap line and our sewer line has been disconnected.
GAME PLAN FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS
The property is slated to have a construction fence installed next week and we are scheduled to close on the constrction financing on or about this Friday. Once the financing is complete, then we are full speed ahead.
NAVY FACTOID
I would say we are flank speed, but that particular speed is unsustainable . . . . . flank speed is a nautical term referring to a ship's true maximum speed, beyond the speed that can be reached by traveling at full speed. Usually, flank speed is reserved for situations in which a ship finds itself in imminent danger, such as coming under attack by aircraft. Flank speed is very fuel-inefficient and often unsustainable because of engine overheating issues.

Here is a picture of the tap waterline. About 1 week ago, the City of West University Place removed the water meter and installed this tap waterline which will be used during construction.
Last weekend the sewerline was cut and this riser pipe was installed. Don't worry, that isn't raw sewage you see below. The rain during this past week has been significant and the hole is filling up with rain water.
I don't know when, but the gas meter and gas line were also pulled. The pipe sticking out of the ground was previously connected to a gas meter.
The electric meter was pulled from the house and the wire drop from the electric pole to the house will be cut when the house is demolished.

Potty Potty Potty!!!
It is official (I hope I am not jinxing it) Reese is using the potty after only 2 weeks of "potty training". With the advice from Reese's teacher, we started our potty time the weekend of July 4th taking advantage of a long weekend. Matt, Reese and I cleaned up a lot of tee tee from the floor the first 24 hours, but after that she really started to get the hang of it.
For encouragement, we created a "Potty Chart" where we place stickers every time she goes potty. Since then the stickers have become more of an entertainment while going potty and we seem to find them all over the house and on Mommy's clothes. At one time, she had 3 spider stickers on 3 different fingers. She told me, "I have 3 itsy bitsy spiders Mommy." What a smart girl!
We have lots of new Dora and Hello Kitty panties which Reese just loves!
We are so proud of Reese and her accomplishment. It hasn't been without a few accidents, but that is to be expected. The adjustment of going at school has been the hardest, but she is getting there. Way to go Reese!!!
Here's the bump at 22 weeks...last week everyone I saw at work said to me, "Oh my, you are showing now!"
I'm thinking, "I've been showing!"
We enjoyed some pool time with Daddy on the 4th of July.
We welcomed Daddy home from his time in DC with yummy cupcakes. We love any reason to enjoy cupcakes!

It's amazing what entertains Reese these days; she stood at the sink and played with the squirt bottle for like 30 minutes. I asked her to play there because the only way she could squirt the bottle was to aim it at her face.
Playing in the laundry basket never gets old.
Neither do new pj's! Love these and so does Reese.
All tuckered out...the fact that she was running fever half the weekend didn't help either. We are just now getting over the fever from a sore throat, but it wasn't strep. Reese will be back at school on Thursday.
Daddy is already teaching Reese how to work out! She was even trying to do sit-ups.

Abilene Trip ~ June 25th
The weekend of June 25th, Reese, Mom, Grandma and I made a quick trip to Abilene for Ashley's baby shower.
On Thursday night before we left, Reese and I went to Pottery Barn Kids to buy a gift for my friend Stephanie who was also having her baby shower in Abilene that weekend. Reese loves PBK almost as much as I do, and she picked out a cute froggie towel for her baby brother. When we got home she just had to try it out after her bath. Isn't it cute? I'm sure baby brother won't mind; he'll get his turn soon enough!
On Friday morning, Reese and I packed up and headed out early to run a few last minute errands before picking up Mom and Grandma at 10:30. First, we went to get my weekly progesterone shot at my OB's office. Reese was very brave while Mommy got her shot. It's a lovely thing I get to do every week for 15 weeks in the hope that it will prevent early labor like I had with Reese.
Next we went to get Mommy a pedicure. I was in desperate need! Reese was so good and patient at the salon. She enjoyed watching me and observing the place.
Then we picked up GiGi and MaMoo, grabbed Chick-fil-a and were on the road by 11:00 a.m.!
We arrived in Abilene around 5:00, checked in to the hotel and headed to Aunt Jamie's. That night, we enjoyed Mr Gatti's pizza...because you can't find it easily in Houston and hung out with everyone.
On Saturday we dropped Grandma off to get her hair styled (a must when we are in Abilene!) and killed some time with a trip to Starbucks. Reese talked to Daddy on the phone (he was in Washington, DC and also visiting Starbucks).
Then she enjoyed her organic apple juice while GiGi and I enjoyed our mocha and latte.
The shower was a big hit and lots of fun! Chad's mom, Katta, let us host at their beautiful new home. Ashley was glowing with delight!
She is due August 7th and I am due November 1st. How fun! Her baby girl, Sadie, will be growing up with our baby boy.
Reese discovered Slaton's new dinosaur toy and wouldn't let it go.

We enjoyed delicious cupcakes from McKay's. Reese opted to take off her white ruffle dress while eating her pink iced chocolate cupcake.
Like the "Cars" band aid on her upper arm? She always has at least 3 or 4 on her body at any given time. Not because of having boo boos, but because she likes them so much! I think we go through a box a week! The way I see it, they are cheap entertainment for her.
