These are so cute they deserve their own post! I sat the kids down together in the hotel room on Sunday morning before heading back to Houston from our San Antonio crawfish boil.

Reese said while giggling, "I like holding him Momma!"

Lane liked it too!

Almost annual crawfish boil ~ San Antonio 2011

On Saturday we packed up the kids and headed to San Antonio for our almost annual crawfish boil hosted by our friends Allen and Mesha Millsap. For the past 7 years or more we have been meeting up with our ASU college friends (the guys: Matt, Nolan, Mauro, Mark, Allen) for the big boil. The last one was at our old Albans house in 2009. We try to do it each year, but don't always manage it. When we do it's so much fun!

We all agreed this one was one of the best set ups yet. Thank you Mesha and Allen for hosting such a great time!

Here we are on the road to SA.

We stopped at Whataburger for a quick bite.

The kids had a blast playing in the sprinkler, with the huge bubbles and making chalk drawings everywhere. By the end of the night - 10:30 p.m. - they had drug half the toys outside and made themselves at home.

Us parents enjoyed catching up on life, work, kids and reminiscing the good ole days.

We had great food including chips/salsa, crawfish with potatoes, corn, sausage and shrimp, red beans/rice and cornbread and topped it off with homemade ice cream. Plus a few adult beverages.

It was so nice to chat with Wendy, Lucinda and Mesha - lots of much needed girl talk!

Lane (7 mo)

Matt was the master crawfish chef.

Lane slept with Matt and me in the king size while Reese slept on the pull out sofa bed.

7 months and 1 tooth

Lane turned 7 months old on Tuesday, May 17th. He is still the sweetest boy we have ever seen. Reese absolutely loves him and he adores her right back.

Reese shares Eyore with Lane. Lane also shares all of his toys with Reese. She just loves to play in his room and his baby toys. She likes to say, "When I was a baby, I played with this." She says that about everything that Lane does - to make sure we remember that she did those things too when she was a baby!

The kids were playing in my room while I got ready one Saturday.

Off to the park - I had to get a shot of Reese in these jeans because her little bottom looked so cute. Notice the new kicks she is wearing - finally tennis shoes again! She wouldn't wear them for the longest time.

I came home during lunch one day and took this - he was just smiling and being happy. While on the floor, Lane can now roll everywhere. On carpet he doesn't mind as much, but when on this blanket on the wood floors he doesn't like it when he rolls off and onto them. Probably because they are hard and cold. I had to take Reese's Dora doll house upstairs to her room today (I was just waiting for the day) because Lane is moving more on his tummy, so we've got to keep those small doll house pieces from him.

It reminded me of Reese when she was also 7 months.

I had been meaning to take recent towel head pics - finally I remembered to bring the camera upstairs so we could after bath time.

He smiles like this ALL the time.

The feet always go in the mouth - when you feed him, when you change him, when you take his picture, etc.

So, I see that I managed to make Lane's 7 month blog a lot about Reese too, but they are so much a part of each other's lives. I don't want to leave that out. So Lane, forgive me.

Today, Sunday the 23rd of May, I noticed Lane's first tooth. It's on the bottom left (my right when facing him). It's just peeking through. Finally!!! Poor baby has been in lots of pain lately, so I hoped it would finally pop out.

Other updates on Lane at 7 months:

He is still sleeping through the night with out a bottle. If he cries, he generally puts himself back to sleep. Most nights he goes down very easy after an 8 ounce bottle; except for tonight. He cried for at least 30 minutes. I think he was just very tired from a long weekend of travel to San Antonio and then hanging out with GiGi while Matt and I ran errands this afternoon.

He loves his pacifier now. When he is fussing and we give it to him he calms right down. I only wasted a few bottles thinking he was hungry when all he actually wanted was the paci.

He eats every 4 hours and does cereal with fruit/veggies 3 times a day. His bottles still range from 4-6 ounces during the day.

He stands up very strong on your lap and in the saucer. He also jumps and kicks when he gets excited. Today he had a blast at GiGi's in her saucer - they said he jumped and played and got all excited. Then later, when I got him ready for his bath, he kicked and kicked when I started running the water.

He does very well in the baby bjorn - I carry him in it quite a bit these days when we are outside.

Lane makes lots of noise with his lips when his teeth hurt! It so cute. I sit and make the noise with him over and over.









Tonight while playing in the game room and listening to West 84 Lane rolled over from his belly to his back by bowing his back and curling his legs like a rocking chair - I cheered yay!! Reese said, "I can roll over too!" and proceeded to show us. This morning I told grandma and she said, "He's been rolling over like that!" I guess he just wasn't ready to show me yet.

Later while getting ready for bed Reese told me her carpet was "beautiful, fluffy and looked like popcorn." This reminds me when she said "this house is beautiful" the day the carpet was installed.

A lot

Each morning Reese asks me to hold her hand (or her stuffed animal and book) when we walk downstairs and upstairs. Today I only held her fingers while walking back up to get dressed. She said, "hold it a lot!" So I got a better grip and she was happy.

Bedtime

Here is Lane this morning after a full nights sleep from 8:45 p.m. to 7:45 a.m. Love that little bottom in the air.

Before her bath, Reese loves to play with Lane's toys while I dress him after his bath.

Lane watches her with such interest and awe.

After both are bathed, Lane has his bottle and Reese brushes her teeth we read a book together in Reese or Lane's room. Reese says, "Let's read one all together Mama."

While I was writing this post, Reese came downstairs from her bed and wanted to see the pictures on the computer. Before looking at pictures of herself as a baby, she saw these of Lane and said, "Ah what a cute baby." When then went back to 2008 and looked at Reese when she was 4 months old. She liked seeing herself and it was fun to remember her being that tiny.
