Palm Beach Vacay

Leave it to me to go two months without blog post and then decide to do one after vacation. Who doesn't want to share their fun and relaxing experience!

Prior to leaving town last Thursday Matt and I spent some time with the kids before they headed off to school. Reese noticed her sunflower had bloomed! She grew this beauty from a seed and then a sprout in cup. Once we got it home we planted it in our flower bed. I told Reese, "I am so proud of you for growing a sunflower!" She responded, "I am so proud of my sunflower!"

Lane is 19 months, almost 20 months and started school again two weeks ago. He is adjusting well. It was hard the first week, but he got better each day. The first day he got right to playing and cried a bit when I left. The second day he ran back to the car and arched his back showing his reluctance when I carried him in. The third day he held on to me for dear life and cried. The fourth day he got down and ran to his teacher crying. After that, it has gotten better each day. Today was his first day back in a while because while we were on vacation he and Reese stayed at home on school days with Momma Pat. Then Lane got sick with a double ear infection over the weekend!

When I picked him up today he saw me through the window and was crying for me when I walked in. Earlier in the day he did enjoy his first splash day at school! I forgot his swim suit, but it turns out his diaper worked just as good and he had a blast!

Matt and I headed to the airport around 9:00 a.m. and were in Palm Beach, FL by 3:00 p.m. We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort Hotel and it was fabulous! This is what we did most of the time...

Sip cool drinks by the pool,

Eat lunch or enjoy happy hour beachside,

Catch some rays and read Fifty Shades (Darker) after a relaxing massage,

Leave the hotel once to run 7.5 miles (for Adrienne's marathon training),
And then leave the hotel once more to enjoy the town. Here at Roco's Taco's we had a huge bowl of guacamole and a pitcher of ritas.

Then after some brief shopping, we walked to Worth Avenue for dinner.

While crossing Lake Worth we had to wait for a Yacht to cross. Here is how it works,

Worth Avenue has great architecture, boutiques and tucked away restaurants,

We enjoyed Pizza Al Fresco and loved the outdoor atmosphere!

This was our view - we will definitely go again one day. It was kid friendly too. I missed the kids when I saw other parents with their babies, but this was a trip for us. It was great to reconnect and have a real conversation! We'll plan another vacation in August with Reese and Lane.

The kids new favorite outdoor activity is "watering" the flowers which actually means making mud puddles in the mulch and having a dirty blast.
